Rick Gerety, CIC

Rick Gerety is the President, founder and principal agent of the agency. Gerety began working as an independent insurance agent in 1996 and started his own agency from scratch in 1998. Under his leadership, the agency has grown to serve thousands of personal and commercial lines clients in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Virginia. Gerety earned a BS degree in Marketing from Penn State University in 1987 and holds the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).

Gerety is a life long resident of Harford County and is married with two adult age children and a chocolate lab. For over fourteen years he coached soccer and lacrosse at the recreation and travel/club level. He is involved in the community through the Harford County Chamber of Commerce and is a board member for the Mason-Dixon Business Association. He is also the Vice-Chairman for the Board of Directors at Freedom Federal Credit Union and is the Chairman of the Board of Appeals for the town of Bel Air.

Gerety is responsible for the overall day today operations of the agency and he has instilled in the agency a culture of always providing the very best service to each and every one of our clients. Under his leadership, Gerety Insurance has earned multiple leadership awards including President’s Conference (top 3% of all agents nationally) for Nationwide Insurance five times and Conference of Champions (top 10% of all agents nationally) fourteen times.

Gerety was also awarded the Mid-Atlantic regions Community Service Award in 2012. In addition to running the agency, Gerety’s focus is on providing business insurance to contractors, restaurants, IT professionals and small businesses.
