About Sully

Sully is a native of Bel Air, MD, is an insurance advisor, partner, and aspiring business owner at Gerety Insurance. Prior to joining the family business, Sully gained valuable experience as a Client Service Associate at JP Morgan’s Private Bank and has since spent over five years expanding Gerety Insurance alongside his father. As our Commercial Insurance Advisor, Sully specializes in a wide range of property and casualty insurance lines, including Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, Workers Comp, General Liability, Cyber Liability, Professional Liability, and Umbrella/Excess Umbrella coverage.

My Philosophy

Not many individuals are able to fulfill their childhood dreams of becoming what they wanted to be when they grew up. During the second grade, I participated in a class project where we wrote down our desired professions on a wooden bench that was auctioned off at a bullroast for our classmates’ parents to bid on. More than twenty years later, while at a grocery store, a parent of one of my classmates approached me and inquired about the type of work I pursued. She expressed her surprise that I had written down wanting to be an insurance agent in the second grade. However, I was able to confidently inform her that I had indeed become an insurance advisor, making me one of the few people who can say they have fulfilled their childhood aspirations. I was able to confidently say I became what young Sully said he would be when he grew up, an insurance advisor.  It took me another year to realize that I am one of the very few people who get to say they became what they wanted to be when they grew up.  I always looked up to my dad and wanted to be like him when I grew up, but for it to become a reality makes me realize how lucky I am to have the opportunity.

As an insurance advisor I have two goals:   1. Make sure my clients sleep soundly at night.  2. Make sure my client’s policies are cost effective.  My background in finance and economics helps me educate my clients on the cost of insurance and, more importantly its purpose.  While some may view insurance as a generic product, it is in fact a unqiue product service tailored to the specific risks at hand.  Whether you are a business owner responsible for a team of 15 or a diligent individual looking to protect your family’s future, I would be delighted to have a conversation with you. By fostering an open and honest relationship, I can put myself in your shoes and understand your unique challenges. Life can throw curveballs, but having a trustworthy partner with your best interests at heart is something that everyone deserves.
