Harford County native Sully Gerety was recently highlighted in the August/September issue of Harford’s Heart magazine in an inspiring feature titled “From Childhood Dream to Making A Difference.”
The article shares Sully’s journey from growing up just blocks away from Gerety Insurance, his family’s agency of over 25 years, to now helping lead it into the future. What started as a childhood dream to follow in his father’s footsteps has become a career dedicated to supporting local families and businesses.
After earning his degree in Economics from the University of Maryland and gaining valuable experience at J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank, Sully returned to Harford County to carry on the Gerety Insurance legacy. Today, he focuses on empowering business owners, mentoring young professionals, and giving back to the community through volunteer work with organizations such as the Senator Bob Hooper House.
Sully’s story in Harford’s Heart highlights his commitment to strengthening Harford County by protecting what matters most to its people. As he puts it: “Strong businesses build strong communities.”
